Meals on Wheels, Riverside is a non-profit organization that has been providing meals to the elderly since 1972. This service began at the First Methodist Church in the 1960’s and has developed to serve several cities in Riverside County, including Corona, Norco, Lake Elsinore, and most southern areas of the county. Alex Arana is the Executive Director and is part of a 2 person staff. Pat Polan is a volunteer who has been an amazing volunteer since 2011. Today, the program is reaching over 125 seniors and temporary disabled peoples who are unable to care for themselves during the day. Food is organized Monday through Friday by professional cooks. Volunteers are a crucial part of this work. They not only deliver food, but they are trained to meet and assess the needs of the clients when making their deliveries.
