Bishop Gerald Barnes is retiring after over 25 years in San Bernardino as its Bishop. Fr. Soney Sebastian, SVD, in this interview, asks him about the challenges and joys of his time here. The Diocese started out with 235,000 Catholics in two counties of 20,000 square miles.

They discuss the vast diversity in the Diocese with its blessings and challenges.

Now there are 1.7 million Catholic, 74% of whom are Hispanic.

They spend a deal of time talking about working in this Diocese with all the benefits.

Fr. Soney then asks the Bishop about his personal plans after retirement.
