Imagine picking up a piece of wire and twisting and turning it into a beautiful image of Jesus on the cross.
That’s what Deacon Jim Weber does as a hobby. He has a full time job working for the Water Department, is a Deacon in the Catholic Church, and makes these crucifixes for friends.
In this interview Deacon Weber explains the unique story of how he became a Deacon. He looks upon this ministry as “working in the trenches”.
The story of how he began making the jewelry is fascinating. A man came to his house 25 years ago and asked him if he wanted to buy some wire. Since he was a welder for years, he bought it. Eighteen years later he is making the crucifixes. God is in this for sure!
