Of all the definitions of love, Paul’s insight into love is used at most weddings. In this program, Fr. Mike discusses Paul’s definition of love.
Fr. Mike first looks at the Greeks’ explanation of love and then at the Hebrews in the Old Testament. He then turns to Paul’s letter to the Corinthians, especially Chapter 13. He explains each phrase Paul uses: patient, kind, is not jealous, is not inflated, is not rude, is not quick-tempered, doesn’t brood over injury, rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes, endures all things. Finally love never fails.
He then applies all these qualities to Jesus and Jesus’ love for us.
He ends by giving questions for group discussion.
