We experience Jesus when we experience others who are suffering. Bringing justice to these people is challenging.
In Fr. Mike’s interview with Sharon Halsey-Hoover, they explore how Sharon does this in her own life. She talks about her early life, how she found Jesus, drifted a bit and then became committed to Jesus through the charismatic movement.
Then she married David and they both became involved in social justice issues. They opened a group home and participated in many justice activities.
The highlights of this interview are the excerpts from the play on Dorothy Day, (1897 – 1980) founder of the Catholic Worker. Sharon acts out three segments of Dorothy’s life. Particularly moving is the one where she talks about two women who visited her and she had to turn them away. David does a scene from the life of Francis of Assisi.
