At the Frontline

Suppose you are in the middle of a war. You write a letter to loved ones at home How will that letter be received ?

Fr. Mike interviews Andrew Carroll, author of Grace Under Fire, about his work of collecting letters from or to servicemen and women.
Andrew talks about how he got into this Legacy Project  and has ended up with hundreds of thousands of letters that are now housed at Chapman University, Orange  California.
Some of the letters talk about God. Some talk about confronting evil in its purest form. Many surface life questions with which we all struggle.
But they also surface the enormous compassion and a sense of the very best in human nature.

Within the interview, Andrew reads excerpts from original letters. Some are still marked with signs of the conflict in which they were written – a bullet hole, blood stains,  tears.
This is a different kind of story of our military people.
