In this session Fr. Mike examines the understanding of grace as taught by St. Paul.
Sometimes when things go wrong in our lives, something happens. There is a light that comes in so many different ways. We are touched by God’s love – the grace of God. We begin to feel life in a new way.
Sad to say, not everyone believes this, but act self-sufficient without any need of God’s love. Even good Christians can let God become insignificant in their lives, ignoring God and grace.
Paul encourages us not to be seduced by the distractions of the world. He evens lists all the ways this can happen . But Paul holds out hope, hope in the fact that grace offers an alternative. He explains why and how this happens in his life.
Then Fr. Mike explains his understanding of what it means that “Salvation comes only through Christ.” The Vatican II Fathers offer a different interpretation to this saying, different from the literal meaning of the words.
Fr. Mike holds out for us the belief that miracles can and do happen
